I had such a good time with this movie. I knew it was a mystery going in, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so funny. The dialogue is super sharp and the characters are all a little quirky in the best way. It moves at a really nice pace, and once things start going off the rails, it’s just pure fun.
The two guys who are obsessed with cricket, Charters and Caldicott, completely cracked me up. They’re in the middle of this wild situation and still just want to get home in time for the match. I loved every scene they were in.
It’s definitely got that classic Hitchcock suspense, but with a much lighter touch than some of his later stuff. Just a really fun, clever movie. I can see why it’s still so loved after all these years.
